I am a 21-year-old fashion designer, entrepreneur & founder of Amethyst Designs. I am a young energetic and motivated woman born and raised in Ottawa, Canada. I am a recent Richard Robinson || Academy of fashion design graduate.
As a child, fashion was always something that seemed to fit perfectly with my personality; however, like everything else, passions branch from other things and for me it was drawing. I love the freedom that comes with a blank page and pencil, the limitless possibilities of all the pretty things I can create.
The main inspiration for the name of my company came from my birthstone, amethyst and coincidentally was also my favorite color growing up. The amethyst stone promotes, calm, balance and patience which are all crucial to any flourishing business, hence why I thought it perfectly suited what I was envisioning as my company.
I hope to someday have my own boutique where everyday women can walk in and find everything they’ve been daydreaming about! I create clothing for artistic, eclectic, boho chic women who love to play around with fashion! I dream of someday designing my very own shoe collection, but that wouldn’t stop me from buying more!
A little more about me…
I like to base my creations on different styles inspired by different eras. I’m in love with the 60’s and 70’s; from the colors to the prints, EVERYTHING! I love vintage, bohemian, retro styles. I guess you can say that I enjoy a little bit of everything!
If you enjoy fashion design, lookbooks, and some lazy Sunday DIY’s you’re at the right place. I will keep you updated with my latest designs, artwork and share with you some outfit inspiration. I write about fashion lifestyle, sewing, DIY’s, and upcoming fashion events.
Being the only 15-year old I knew who liked to sew and document her outfits. I decided I wanted to start a fashion blog. I started my first blog back in 2010 just for fun. Turns out I loved it! Even though at the time it was just a hobby I knew it was something that I would love to take on in the future. I love thrift shopping, Disney and shoes. I hate socks with crocs, spiders and doing dishes!
Follow me for a little taste of fashion! I can’t wait to share my journey with you!
